We are looking at our first camper, we have young children and really would like the comfort and convenience of a pop up, but have a bit of a limited budget. I am looking at a 1997 Coleman Yukon, price seems good owner says roof, canvas, windows, lift mechanism, are good. No known rot or moisture issues. One bed slide is a little stickier than the other, fresh water tank will need cleaned, front storage area seal needs 'some help.' Is this a good model? What are some trouble areas to look for?

Any help is appreciated. I think it's high, but I've also seen some campers on craigslist around me go quickly and for prices I wouldn't have paid. Anything under $5000 in decent shape goes quickly, and especially anything $3000 and under. You'd have to watch your local CL for a while to get a feel for what they usually go for. This may be a good deal for your area.

Personally, I'd have patience and see if something better comes along. 20 years old that needs 'some help' likely means you'll run into other problems. If you could get them down to $2,000, that would give you a cushion to fix issues that pop up. Personally, I'd steer clear of Colemans - they had a lot of roof issues, and I just don't even want to mess with the potential for water damage.

We missed out on quite a few campers on CL before we found our current one for $3500. I found it on facebook marketplace - you might search on there. Fewer people use it, so it's easier to get a good deal. There is no way I could have gotten our PUP for $3500 if it was on CL. It would have lasted minutes and sold for way more (our seller lowered the price after 3 months of not selling it).

So don't jump on this one just because you are tired of looking - the right one will come along! Thanks, I have read a fair bit about the roof systems on these coleman campers, the owner says there are no soft spots or damage to the roof though.

The parts that need 'some help' seem to be pretty minimal after talking to the seller, the seal around the front storage area has shrunk so there is a little bit of a gap between the two ends. I was amazed to see a almost 30 year old pop up on the local CL for $2750 recently.

Around here it seems like if it's less than $3000 you probably don't want it, unless you find that rare one and happen to be on CL at the right time to scoop it up before anyone else. My family had coleman campers when I was younger I don't really know anything about other brands, any recommendations? Click to expand.I don't know that any of the other brands are really better than the others. They have all consolidated now, and I think it's only 2 manufacturers. A lot of them went under during the recession of the late 2000s. When you are looking at the older campers, I think it's less about the brand name, and more about the owner and how well it was maintained. If you go look at it and it's in good shape, then go for it. How To Get Minecraft Pe Full Version For Free Without Jailbreak more.

I don't know what the market is like in your specific area, but I do know that on the west coast campers very rarely go for under NADA value, and they usually go for much more. You can check rvtrader.com and see what is around you, too-sometimes you can get a good deal on there. It's mostly about being lucky and being dilligent and patient - this may be the camper for you, you just have to go see it and see what you think of it.
