David Belcher wrote:Great job, Rui, with such a difficult piece. Just curious: Do you use the older edition or the Ricardo Iznaola revised edition? Personally I would love to hear you play the minuet and the final movement as well, but thanks for posting these. Peace, dave b Thank you very much, David. The version I played in this recording is a mixture of my own, between the older Sanz Gallego version, the manuscript and some bits of the Bream recording (which is great, IMHO).

Keep checking the forum because this Sonata will be published for the 10 year Delcamp anniversary, next June 1rst. I didn't post the two other movements, because I was not very proud of them (live broadcast on the National Radio frightened me a bit ) The good thing is that after posting this, and the revision of the upcoming edition I returned to this piece again. Who knows If a new recording is on the way! I really look forward to the Sonata being available here at Delcamp (and I completely agree with you about the Bream—so very good. Have you heard Aniello Desiderio's recording? It approaches Bream if it doesn't, dare I say, surpass it). And I completely understand about the other two movements.I've been recording myself playing this monstrous 15:00 virtuosic piece for the past few weeks in preparation for a concert on Saturday and I've always been too embarrassed to summon the courage to post any of my takes here.

(It really is amazing how much recording yourself can replicate the same psychological conditions of public performance!) I look forward to hearing any new recordings you might post soon. Peace, dave b. Hi Paul, I've been out of playing concerts for a long time, so my comments are somewhat relative, but my experience has been that the only thing that really begins to address those kinds of anxieties is by performing more often in front of others—and to be well prepared each time you do.

The better prepared you are, the more confident you will be, despite understandable nerves. Our Man In Paris Dexter Gordon Rar Extractor. And nerves can be a good thing after you have been performing for a while—the adrenaline can really give you a lot of energy and you can play off of it. I think it was Denis Azabagic who said that if you're not at least a little nervous then you won't play at your best. Also in my experience, recording yourself (especially video) can really simulate the illusion that you're 'being watched' and it activates that same tendency toward self-monitoring that triggers when you're actually performing in front of others (that constant self-evaluation and self-critical voice that is both the source of deep performance anxiety, and can be used to your advantage after some time). All that said, I know others who never get over performance anxiety and if your body and mind continue to tell you, no matter how well prepared you are, and no matter how often you play in front of others, that this is not right—maybe it's not.

My guess is, if you ask your teacher to give you similar opportunities in the future, the more you risk yourself by playing in front of others, the more the anxiety will subside. I hope this helps a bit. Peace, dave b. David Belcher wrote:Fantastic!
