I don’t know what ClueDo is. But a friend of mine from Ninja Saga forum told me that it was interesting, and take less mental pressure than werewolf game. There are 3 levels of difficulty for each opponent: Rookie, Detective, and Inspector. You can get to play with minimum 3 players and maximum 6 players (including yourself). The host will keep a card of each kind, so that makes it 3 host cards in total.
Our goal is guessing which cards the host keep because that is the answer of the mystery: Who done it? And with what weapon? The funny thing is you are not guaranteed to play as innocent. If you are able to guess it along with the weapon and criminal scene correctly, it means you turn yourself in and still counted as winning the game. Player who has the card must show only a card which being asked. After playing some games, you must have noticed that not only the turn of guessing (it was mentioned by the host in tutorial), but obligation of showing card also goes in order. For example, Player 1 guesses card A, B, and C.
If Player 2 does not have one of these cards, it goes to Player 3. Now lets assume Player 5 has card A and C while Player 4 has card B. Player 5 will not have to show his card because Player 4 blocks it for him – Player 4 shows his card B to Player 1, then that is how Player 1 guessing turn ends. So if you can remember the order, it will help you eliminating more cards. The best move you can make is only guessing cards which are owned by player who has turn right before you, because all of players before this guy will say “I do not have card to show”.
Once you get used to it, playing against 5 Rookie-level players at once is a piece of cake. My personal achievement so far is playing against 2 players Detective-Inspector or 5 Detective-level players at once. To them, I lose quite frequently (sure, sometimes win), but I am trying to reach about 70% rate of winning if possible before trying to challenge myself with 5 Inspector-level players. Actually I also use the help of MExcel to eliminate more cards.
Notebook which is provided in the game is helpful in early games, but it fails assisting me beating Inspector-level. Guess the culprit! But be careful – I’ve caught a Detective-level opponent playing guess on cards they own several times. • When making a guess of a culprit, you will summon this player to your room as well. This also applies to you. Make use of this to distract opponent by leading them to room they do not want to visit or avoid summoning them if you want them have less chance of guessing. • Make notes of which cards which player does not have instead of listing which cards they have.
You might not believe this, but this trick eliminates more possible cards hence lead you to reach final conclusion more quickly than the your opponents. • If you have figured out half or more of total cards of a player, then you might as well aim to figure out all cards owned by him because by doing this, you can be sure that the rest cards are owned by other players or probably, no one. • A guess which resulting a lot of “ I do not have card to show” from players will attract your opponents to guess the similar combination. Be careful if you are playing your cards in this guess because this might cause you showing cards which you intently keep in secret. Mimicking is lame, but that is what most your opponents do here.
