Not trying to joust with you over this, but I'm having the same problem, and I'll add this comment to your answer; I have a UMAX 3400 scanner - old, but serviceable. It worked in Win 95/95, with a UMAX driver. The War Report Cnn Download For Android.

There never was a Win XP driver - UMAX wants me to throw it away, and buy a new one. AT THAT TIME - a trip to the web, and I downloaded, and installed, a GENERIC WIA DRIVER from Microsoft.

If I had any sense, I would have sent it for recycling at the end of 2006, but like you, there was nothing intrinsically wrong with it, apart from the total lack of Canon 64-bit support, and I didn't want to junk it. Vuescan costs roughly half of what a decent new scanner would have cost.

It is a little noisy, slow, low resolution, and it doesn't always manage colour too well anymore. I have to take the scanner apart now and again, but it is not a daily drive. I scan maybe three items per year. Treat yourself to a new scanner. Getting emotionally attached to old scanners is not good.:-) Windows 10 Pro - Start10 - part of a local network which is a '3rd party optimizer-free' zone.
