On manual windows, there is no wiring in the door. I suggest buying a set of doors from a junk yard the same colour as yours and swapping them in because the kits for electric locks, and windows can be expensive and are never as reliable as the stock electric window and lock mechanisms. Plus, swapping in the aftermarket stuff is a very time consuming proposition and if you have never done it, it can be daunting. Especially (or even if) you know DC electronics. There are a lot of voltage (amperage) and relay issues that can crop up not to mention where to put the switches and how quality the switches are. Getting a set of doors with switches and the central switch and wiring it will be a TON easier.

I have gotten sick of slow or inoperable electric windows over the years so much I wanted manual windows. I also wanted the much lower weight of the manual windows, the doors (without electronic motors and actuators are about 25lbs lighter (total) than manual doors so there's that as well. On my BMW I have been looking for a set of manual seats for this reason as well. Even thoughmine look good and work, they actually weigh 230lbs each!
If I pull them out and swap in manual Recaros I drop about 350lbs off the weight of the car, and it is unsprung weight so beneficial to everything, like handling, mileage, acceleration, stopping. I may install a door lock actuator for the doors for the alarm to interact with to lock and unlock the doors for me though as they don't weigh but about 2lbs. Thanks for the info. Now that i sit back and think about it i do want to eventually use this car for road courses and i would have to shed that extra weight. So i may just install power locks to go with the alarm and remote start which would only add 20lbs at the most. Plus the thought of replacing both doors entirely sounds like to much work. It wuld be a lot of work and money and for a door that weighs a lot more and is (in the long run) possibly more problematic.
And you do know that WHEN the drivers window gets stuck down, what is the weather going to be doing? I'm putting the door of my scrap ( 280 000 KM ) ford focus SW 2003 on my girlfriend 2000 focus sedan ( 120 000 KM ), I've used part of the focus 2003 harness, so the power windows and power mirror work fine, I'm just having problem figuring out the door lock system because the 2000 does not have any anti theft system, so I'm trying do rewire so it can work without it. Any help would be appreciated. And this week end I'll install the rear door, more complicated because i need to cut the top of the door of the 2000 and weld it to the door of the 2003 so i can install them on the sedan 2000 because they are not the same height.

Hello, Has anyone installed Keyless Entry on a LS Spark Model? Or installed Power Door Locks? I have been going around town getting quotes from different Places. This is what I have (The locations are in Northern Illinois around the Waukegan/Gurnee area) Best Buy - The guy at best buy told me it would cost 20 bucks to check if the Spark has the electric or standard configuration for door locks. (His thought was if its electrical 'meaning works with wires sending the signal' they won't be able to do it'. If it is not electrical then it would cost 100 per each door + any modules or extra things required.
Basically 100 x 4 = 400 + 20 (for checking) = 420 + xxx. I was thinking so too, but now I wonder if by changing the Stock Speakers to Kickers and adding the Kicker Hideaway to the car it already voided the warranty. I don't understand how by adding Power Door Locks it would void the warranty when it is being installed at the Dealership by their 3rd Party vendor. Yup, I agree with Greg. Its ridiculous and garbage how they are against it.
I might have to send an e-mail to Chevrolet directly and see what they have to say. Replacing the speakers will not void the warranty. Something on your car would have to stop working and then the dealer would need to prove that replacing the speakers is the reason for the failure lol. Hi guys, adding 'aftermarket' power door locks will not void your warranty but listen carefully. If you add power door lock system to your vehicle and the original wiring loom is cut into or modified to accommodate your aftermarket power door lock system and say for instance in 2 years time after you fitted your power lock system, all of a sudden the electronic window stopped working due to a open circuit in the wiring loom in the door, and the open circuit has nothing to do with your door lock system but just because the loom is modified or tampered with, GM will not replace/repair the loom under warranty because its not standard any more.
The is a very fine line in this sort of situations. And you can fit other speakers to your vehicle, just make sure that your new speaker is of the same load to the radio as your standard speakers.
Then, if your Radio fails for some reason like your screen or buttons or CD player, its very unlikely that Warranty will void the Claim because you have other speakers fitted to the radio which has nothing to do with the screen, but say the Radio internal Amp driver fails, then Warranty may decline a claim due to the speakers because the speakers could have cause the Amp driver to fail. Hopefully you understand my explanation.
