Under Page Setup in the Design tab, select the option for “Slides sized for:” that matches the resolution of the digital signage display. ( Most are 16:9, while smaller screens such as those used in hotel and conference center reader boards are 4:3) Also, the slide orientation needs to be set to match the orientation of the digital signage screen. This will prevent the media player and the signage display screen from trying to stretch or scale the project pages to fit the screen properly.
Creating Videos Creating basic animations in PowerPoint to give your presentation more visual interest has been made easy. There are motion, entrance, exit and emphasis effects to apply to various elements on the page. Audio and video can be added, too, with a wealth of editing tools and effects that can really make your videos a seamless part of your project. Since these features are easy to use, it is possible to create an entire sequence for digital signage playback that is professional quality. For example, a page can be created that has descriptive text on the right side and a video region on the left side.
Once the project is completed, what is the best way to get it to display on the digital signage? If the project is designed with static pages and no animation, importing the project directly into digital signage software is the most direct approach. Enterprise level software like Noventri Suite allows you to import the entire, add it directly to a sequence and display it on your screens. Changes can later be made to the presentation in PowerPoint and then re-imported back into the digital signage project, making for easy updates.
The entire PowerPoint project can also be exported as a video and placed into your digital signage project. Any future edits can be made in PowerPoint and the file re-uploaded to the signage project, giving you only one video file to manage.

Note: Video files produced in PowerPoint are limited to a 720p resolution at this time. Using 4:3 Projects At times, there may be a need to reuse an archived PowerPoint project that was created in the 4:3 resolution (Earlier PowerPoint presentations were often designed that way due to the common use of the older projectors ). Depending on the type of content, using 4:3 presentations and scaling to the 16:9 resolution of today’s flat screen LCD monitors may be sufficient.
Even within PowerPoint itself, you can change the project’s page setup from 4:3 to 16:9 to achieve the same result. If having scaled content and the distortion that goes along with it is unacceptable, what can be done? There is always the option of recreating the PowerPoint presentation.
There are a few other tricks to try.Export the pages from the 4:3 project as png image files. Then create a project that is 16:9 and choose a background for the pages that compliments the overall content theme of the original files.
Center each image file onto a new page in the 16:9 project. Publish the project to your favorite digital signage management software. This allows for the original content to be displayed with no distortion.
The same result can be accomplished using digital signage software. Export all the pages of the 4:3 project as image files. Using digital signage software such as,create a 16:9 project. Make a new dynamic page with a background image that compliments the original content theme. Center an image region on the dynamic page and connect the region to the image files folder. All the original pages will automatically be inserted into their own page, effectively achieving the same result from option 1. To remove unnecessary pages, simply remove the image file from the connected folder.
